Hi, my name is Zoe Brummell, and I’m the Owner and Founder of Equine Attunement. My passion lies in helping horses release held emotions, past traumas, and energy imbalances. With over 20 years of experience with horses developing skills in groundwork, liberty training, and horse communication, I’ve developed a deep understanding of equine behaviour. I am a certified practitioner in the Emotion Code, Body Code & Belief Code.

Through my work, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless horses build trust and find harmony with their owners. I take a holistic approach that addresses not just emotional needs, but also the physical and psychological aspects of their well-being. I’m dedicated to continually expanding my knowledge and techniques to ensure every horse I work with receives the best care possible.

As a passionate advocate for equine welfare, my mission is to enhance the lives of horses through empathetic and intuitive practices, making a positive impact in the equine community.

The Key Element in Equine Care

After years of working with horses, I discovered a vital piece was missing—no one was examining the horse as a complete system.

Most people concentrate on specific areas, such as the body, hooves, or more training, but this fragmented approach overlooks the connections between them. Every part of a horse is interrelated, and they also absorb and reflect their human’s energy. If a horse shows lameness and you only address the injured leg, the issue is bound to return. Utilising Applied Kinesiology techniques can help uncover the underlying cause, enabling a more holistic approach that considers both the horse and their human.

Equine Attunement is a holistic horse treatment that uses applied kinesiology techniques to identify and address underlying health, behavioral, and physical issues in horses.

The Importance Of Looking At The Whole Picture – The Horse & Their Human

Horses have a remarkable ability to absorb human energy and emotions. Often, problem behaviours in horses are symptoms of blocked or unprocessed emotions that reflect the connection between the horse and its owner.
Through Applied Kinesiology techniques, also known as muscle testing, an Equine Attunement session identifies and clears these blocked emotions, helping to alleviate negative behaviour patterns, anxiety, and stress; forming a deeper bond with horse and owner.

Additionally, humans benefit from our sessions as they can gain insights into their own emotional state, leading to improved well-being and a more balanced relationship with their horse. Regular sessions for horses can also help prevent behavioural issues and dis-ease before they develop into emotional or physical problems, promoting harmony in their energetic well-being.

Equine Kinesiology Is Leading The Way

By focusing on the interconnectedness of emotional and physical health, this approach identifies and addresses the root causes of issues, rather than just treating symptoms.

Horses as Emotional Mirrors

Emotional Absorption: Horses are highly sensitive creatures that can absorb the emotions of their humans, reflecting stress, anxiety, or unease. When humans are imbalanced, horses may exhibit similar emotional struggles.

Creating Harmony: By addressing human imbalances—whether emotional, psychological, or physical—we foster a healthier environment that allows both horse and handler to thrive.

Emotional and Behavioural Stability

Addressing Trauma: Horses often carry emotional trauma that can manifest in physical symptoms. Healing these root emotional issues promotes overall stability and well-being.

Long-Term Solutions

Sustainable Healing: Focusing on root causes helps eliminate recurring problems, reducing the need for ongoing treatments and interventions.

Prevention of Future Issues: By addressing emotional or physical trauma, may help in preventing the development of new problems that might arise from unresolved issues.

Comprehensive Understanding

Holistic Approach: Root-cause healing considers the whole horse – emotional, psychological, and physical aspects – leading to more thorough and effective care.

Improved Behaviour: Addressing the root causes of behavioural issues leads to calmer, more focused horses, enhancing training and interactions.

Deeper Connection

Trust Building: Healing at the root fosters a deeper bond between horse and handler, as horses feel understood and supported in their healing journey.

Improved Communication: When horses are free from pain and emotional burdens, they communicate better, allowing for more effective training and partnership.

Real Stories, Real Results

Equine Attunement is a holistic horse treatment that uses applied kinesiology techniques to identify and address underlying health, behavioral, and physical issues in horses.

After noticing my young horse just didn’t feel right, I asked Zoe to assess him. Following just one session, the transformation was astounding. He became noticeably more relaxed, calmer, and developed a better work ethic. Previously anxious and unsettled in new environments after a bad experience with a trainer, he now adapts quickly and willingly. The detailed report Zoe provided was spot-on, addressing issues from bad experience he had and clarifying the reasons behind his behavior. With a few sessions, my horse is now eager to explore new things with confidence. He’s back to our horse we use to know.

Zoe also worked wonders with our other pony who is also reaping the rewards of a session with Zoe both in horsemanship and attunement.

The positive impact on my horses led me to invite Zoe to write a quarterly feature for my equestrian magazine. Her kind and gentle approach has greatly benefited our horses, and I am excited for young riders to learn from her expertise on being attuned to their horses and the importance of Horsemanship. Zoe’s work has truly enhanced the well-being of our beloved four-legged friends and we highly recommend her services to anyone considering to work with her. Thank you Zoe

I was referred to Zoe after my horse, Harry, became increasingly overprotective of some newborn calves, to the point where he wouldn’t let their mothers near them. Although he has always been a protective horse, this behaviour was out of control.

Zoe has conducted three sessions with Harry, and the change in his behaviour is amazing, no more “kidnapping” the calves! The incredible thing is, all three sessions were conducted remotely from her office, an hour away.
I was with Harry following a session, witnessing him having huge releases immediately following a session. Overall, he seems so much calmer.

Zoe’s feedback following each session was extremely professional and informative, and the reports she provided on the clearing have been very helpful in understanding why Harry has such a beautiful, gentle, and caring soul.

Have Questions?

Muscle testing is a technique used in applied kinesiology to assess the function and health of the body. It involves testing the strength and response of specific muscles in relation to various stimuli, such as physical stressors, emotions, or environmental factors. Practitioners apply gentle pressure to a muscle while the individual resists. The muscle’s response—whether it holds strong or weakens—provides insight into potential imbalances or issues within the body.

The underlying principle is that the body’s muscles can react to emotional and physical conditions, indicating areas of stress or dysfunction. By identifying these responses, practitioners can develop targeted interventions to restore balance and promote healing. Muscle testing is widely used in various fields, including chiropractic care, physical therapy, and holistic health practices.

Applied Kinesiology has been used since the 1960s when it was developed by Dr. George Goodheart, a chiropractor. He discovered that muscle testing could be used to assess health and diagnose issues related to various organs and systems in the body. Over the decades, it has evolved and been integrated into various fields, including chiropractic care, physical therapy, and alternative medicine. Its application has since expanded to include not only humans but also animals, particularly in equines, where practitioners use it to assess and improve the well-being of horses and their riders/guardians.

A remote session in Equine Attunement is performed through a structured process that allows practitioners to work with horses from a distance. Here’s how it typically works:

  1. Initial Consultation: The session begins with a discussion to identify specific concerns, behaviors, or issues to address.
  2. Information Gathering: Details about the horse’s history, environment, and observed behaviors are collected. Photos or videos of the horse can also be helpful.
  3. Intention Setting: The practitioner sets a clear intention for the session, focusing on the horse’s well-being and any specific issues mentioned.
  4. Muscle Testing: Using techniques that allow for distant assessment, the practitioner applies muscle testing principles, often relying on the energetic connection with the horse.
  5. Energy Work: The practitioner may guide through specific exercises or visualizations to help clear blocked emotions or energy from the horse.
  6. Feedback and Follow-Up: After the session, the practitioner provides feedback on the findings and any recommended actions, such as changes in handling or additional sessions.
  7. Ongoing Support: Continued support and guidance may be offered as changes in the horse’s behavior or health are observed.

Remote sessions leverage the energetic connection with the horse, making it possible to facilitate healing even from a distance.

Many horses respond positively to our sessions. The gentle and non-invasive nature of the techniques used can create a calm and supportive environment, allowing horses to feel safe and relaxed. During the session, horses often display signs of comfort, such as softening their posture, relaxing their muscles, or seeking closer contact with the practitioner.

Additionally, the process of addressing emotional and physical imbalances can lead to noticeable improvements in their behaviour and overall well-being, which many horses seem to appreciate. While individual responses can vary, overall, horses often benefit from and enjoy the attention and care provided during their sessions.

The number of sessions a horse may need can vary widely based on several factors, including:
  1. Current Issues: Horses with more complex or longstanding problems may require more sessions than those with minor or recent concerns.
  2. Individual Response: Each horse responds differently to treatment. Some may show improvement after just one or two sessions, while others might need ongoing support.
  3. Goals: The specific goals of the owner or trainer—whether addressing behavioural issues, enhancing performance, or promoting general well-being—can influence the number of sessions required.
  4. Follow-Up Assessments: Regular follow-up assessments can help determine how the horse is progressing and whether additional sessions are needed.
  5. Holistic Approach: Incorporating complementary practices, such as nutrition, training adjustments, or other therapies, may also impact the number of sessions needed.

Generally, a practitioner will recommend an initial series of sessions to assess and address the horse’s needs, followed by periodic evaluations to monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary.
